Dietrich Johnson Cooperative Nursery School (DJCNS) classes begin at 9:00 am. Children are picked up between 11:45 and noon. There are two teachers in each room. The 2's, 3's, and 3/4's classes have a helping parent daily.

2 ½'s Class
Meets Tuesday and Friday from 9:00-11:45 am.

3's Class
Meets Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00-11:45 am.

3/4's Class
Meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00-11:50 am.

4's Class
Meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00-noon.

5's Class
Meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00-noon.

LUNCH PROGRAM

DJCNS offers an optional lunch program allowing students to bring lunch and play for an additional hour after the regular nursery school hours. The lunch program costs $8 per day on an as-needed basis.

TERRIFIC TUESDAY EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

DJCNS offers an extended day enrichment program to students in the 3/4's, 4's, and 5's classes. The program runs every other Tuesday afternoon from noon to 2:30 and consists of the lunch program and a short "Rest and Read" time followed by a story, project and activity.

CURBSIDE DROP OFF AND PICK UP

Students can be conveniently dropped off curbside between 9:00 and 9:20 am and picked up curbside at the end of the day. Drop-off and pick-up takes place on Nassau Street in front of the Nassau Presbyterian Church and is staffed by the school's teachers and Helping Parents.

HOME VISITS

In the fall, the teachers schedule a short visit to each of their student's home. During the visit the child can introduce their family and show off their room and other favorite things. The purpose of this visit is to create another opportunity for the students to bond with their teacher as they interact outside the classroom in the comfortable environment of the student's home.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

DJCNS families have two parent/teacher conferences throughout the year to discuss their child's growth and development. The first conference takes place in the fall by phone and the second conference is scheduled in person at the school in the spring. The teachers also encourage parents to contact them at any time to discuss questions or concerns about their child.

PEANUT AND TREE NUT POLICY
